Friday Afternoon Club

Start the weekend off right with Keystone Resort’s Friday Afternoon Club.  Head to the Summit House to enjoy an evening of live music, drink and food specials and activities including horseshoes, corn hole, ladder ball, bocce ball and more!  Free live music will feature a variety of bands throughout the summer.  All activities are free and can be checked out through the Overlook Grill.

Keystone’s Friday Afternoon Club is accessible via a scenic ride on the River Run Gondola. A foot passenger ticket or lift ticket is required to access the Gondola. Foot passenger tickets are available at the River Run Ticket Office and are FREE on Fridays from 1pm-close.  Call 800-354-4386 for more information.

Super Slimy Science
Join the Keystone Science School in discovering the wonders of Colorado’s waterways! The Super Slimy Science Program will allow guests to familiarize themselves with Summit County aquatics, focusing on the biological and chemical aspects of the Snake River. The program consists of hands-on activities, including searching for water bugs and performing fun tests on the water from the river. Don’t miss out on the science, adventure and fun!

Wild West Night  
Bike, hike or gallop over to the Keystone Stables for Wild West Night. The fun begins at 5 p.m. with horseshoe games, lasso demos and s’mores around the campfire. Food and adult beverages are available for purchase, as well as $5 pony rides. Each night also features a classic, family-friendly Western-themed movie starting at 6:00pm.

Special Guest Appearances from Red Tail - The Colorado Mountain Man

Join the campfire and hear some stories from this local legend.  Red Tail will take your family back in time with his authentic and historically accurate presentation on Colorado mountaineers and their experiences with the Indians, the wildlife native to Colorado, and the hardships of their wilderness experience. Red Tail will speak about cultural heritage as well as touching on environmental and ecological issues past and present. His show-n-tell, question and answer format allows his audience to see, hear, feel, and smell what it was like to live in the Rockies in the early 1800s.

Family Nature Hike with Crafts 
Take a free family nature hike lead by Keystone naturalists each Tuesday throughout the summer. Kids and parents can enjoy a short hike where they will learn about native trees, birds and animals that thrive in our high-alpine environment, as well as the mining history on the mountain. The walk is a great introduction to the Rockies, and begins in River Run Gondola Plaza.
Dates: Every Tuesday from June 14 to August 30

Age: This hike will be on gentle terrain, we recommend it as best for ages 4-8, but all in the family can enjoy with some help from baby carriers and rugged strollers.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Women's Wednesday Bike Clinics

Women rule on Wednesdays at Keystone. Shred the Keystone Bike Park with other women riders every Wednesday with a female coach to guide you through skill progression. This is the perfect opportunity to give mountain biking a try while meeting other women to ride with.

June 21 - The “Professional Alex Zerbe “Zaniac”  -  Who’s been cracking jokes onstage for almost 15 years, zigzags between physical stunts and non-stop comedy. During the show vegetables are sliced in half by flying playing cards, flaming torches and bowling balls are juggled with ease and every audience volunteer leaves the stage in triumph.

June 28 - Mitch Harwood - Mysto Magic - Watch as the award winning Mysto the Magic casts his magical spells. Kids will flip over his magic and gut-busting sense of humor! Adults will be awe struck by the magic illusions unfolding before their eyes! Everyone will feel included with this magical group participation event!

July 12 - Peter Davison - "Up in the Air" with Peter Davison - Award-winning juggler, dancer, and kinetic comedian Peter Davison dazzles all-ages with amazing skills and a unique sense of humor.

July 26 - Neil McIntyre - is a professional Speaker, Hip-Hop Emcee, Beatboxer & Goofball. He uses his talents as "Mr Kneel" to encourage & uplift children of all ages. Neil creates inspired original Hip-Hop music, which assists educators & parents in promoting children’s social, emotional & cognitive development.

August 2 - Warren Hammond  - Smirk - Physical comedian Reid Belstock and innovative juggling ace Warren Hammond have teamed up to bring you their hilarious and incredible show for all ages, Smirk! Garnering comparisons to Abbot and Costello, maniacal goofball Reid and straight edge Warren, are a matched pair of performers with a deep bag of tricks whose juggling and slapstick antics explode off the stage with all the subtlety of an atom smasher.

Helmets are required for all racers. Prizes for top finishers.

Lakeside Fun at the Adventure Center
The Adventure Center is the center for family fun in the summer time. Stop inside the building to rent paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, and bicycles. There are arcade games and a snack bar inside the building too. Outside, kick back and relax on our beach while the kids build sand castles with our beach toys, engage in a game of bean bag toss or checkers with our giant checkerboard, or visit the playground located near Decatur Field. Free Wii rentals are also available.

Children will receive decorations for their bikes and must be present to receive the decorations. One decoration bag per child. Parents are invited to join the fun and encouraged to bring their own decorations. All KNC staff reserve the right to deny adults decorations so that more children may enjoy the race-day fun.

The Keystone Bike Park contains some of the most raw and rugged lift-accessed mountain biking in the US. With rock gardens, drops and high-speed features, there will not be a dull moment on your bike. Our freshly designed 2016 courses will challenge riders to the fullest and combine the top trails on the mountain, along with unique track designs never seen before at Keystone. Throughout the weekend, expect to see six rowdy stages with some pedal transitions, a non-stop festival taking place in the village and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.

Red Tail will speak about cultural heritage as well as touching on environmental and ecological issues past and present. His show-n-tell, question and answer format allows his audience to see, hear, feel, and smell what it was like to live in the Rockies in the early 1800s.

Mountain Town Music Festival

A celebration of all things Colorado.  Warm summer days, free live music from national acts and the harvest season for our colorful state. Come spend the weekend in Colorado’s high country and celebrate the waning of summer and squeeze in that one last mountain adventure before the aspens start to turn their golden hues.  

National acts grace the River Run Village stage and local food vendors will line the streets concocting their best peach recipes as well as other harvest favorites such as; Rocky Ford melons, Olathe sweet corn & elk.  Both the sweet and the savory, for you to enjoy. Dance the day away with free live music, from Todo Mundo, Mingo Fishtrap, Miner and headliner Brett Dennen. The festival will also feature vendors from across Colorado highlighting hammocks, original art, pet goodies, jewelry, clothing and more!  As always there will be activities for the kiddos with face painters and plant your own flowerpot.  A signature fireworks show on Saturday night will light up the skies over River Run Village and with Dercum Mountain in the background there’s not a prettier place to take in the evening’s spectacle.   
 
A-la-carte Tasting Tickets: $1 for one Tasting Ticket – each tasting ticket can be exchanged for food items at all participating food vendor tents or beer/wine/liquor at the bar tents.

The Keystone Adaptive Center opened in 2005 to serve people with disabilities and special needs through outdoor recreation including adaptive skiing, snowboarding and adaptive cycling.
